Accessibility

I want The Ivory Coven to feel welcoming, comfortable and accessible to as many brides as possible, so please see below for accommodations I have in place to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT?

Accessibility looks different for everyone. If there’s something I haven’t covered, message me before booking and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

Before the Appointment

You don’t need to make phone calls to book with me – you are welcome to book online, then communicate by DM, email or WhatsApp, and if there’s anything you’d like me to know before your appointment.

As someone who is autistic myself, I know how much easier unfamiliar places can feel when you know what to expect. If it would help, I’m always happy to send you a video of the studio before your appointment so you can see the space, where you’ll be changing and what the environment is like before you arrive.

And if you need a quieter appointment, a break, more time, fewer dresses at once, that is completely fine here ♡

Your Appointment

Appointments are private, so the studio is yours for the duration of your visit. You have up to 90 minutes so there’s no pressure to rush.

You’re welcome to bring up to two guests with you. If you need a carer or support person to attend with you, they are welcome in addition to your two guests.

Sensory Needs

Wedding dresses can be a lot sensory wise — different fabrics, boning, beading, tight bodices, layers of tulle and lots of changing in and out of clothes.

If something feels uncomfortable, itchy, restrictive or just too much, you can take it straight off. There’s absolutely no expectation to “push through”.

We can also adapt things like music, lighting, temperature, conversation and the pace of your appointment. Do tell me if there is anything that would make your appointment more comfortable.

Overwhelm/Anxiety

If you start to feel overwhelmed, you’re always welcome to pause, sit down, have a drink, take a break or reschedule. We can go at whatever pace feels comfortable for you.

At the end of the appointment there is absolutely no expectation to make a decision. Try things on, take your time, go away and think about it. Finding your dress should feel exciting, not pressured.

You are welcome to bring headphones/earplugs/fidgets or anything else that helps you regulate.

Physical Access

The studio is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are steps and a narrow entrance, so I want to be completely transparent about the space before you book.

If you or your guests have mobility needs and would like to talk through access before an appointment, please message me and I’ll happily give you more detail or send a video of the route into the studio.

There are chairs available at all times and you’re welcome to take breaks, bring medication, water or snacks. Appointments can be paced around what feels manageable. If you need more time getting changed, that’s completely fine too.
