How it all began…
Like many brides, I began my wedding planning journey with excitement and a vision of finding the perfect dress. I eagerly booked in bridal appointments, saved endless inspiration on Pinterest and imagined the experience I'd always seen in films and bridal magazines. But as my wedding plans evolved, I found myself in an unexpected position. We had originally planned a small registry office wedding, with a larger celebration the following year, but with just three months to go, the registry office wedding became our main celebration, leaving me with just a few months to find the dress.
Most traditional bridal boutiques require brides to shop at least one year before their wedding day. Suddenly, I found myself searching elsewhere. I spent countless hours scrolling through Vinted, eBay, visiting charity shops, browsing auctions, and hunting for hidden treasures. Along the way, I discovered beautiful gowns, forgotten designers, exquisite craftsmanship, and details that simply aren't common in modern bridalwear. The more I searched, the more I fell in love with vintage wedding dresses.
What surprised me, however, was how difficult it was to find a curated experience. There were dresses scattered across resale sites and hidden in charity shops, but there wasn't a place where brides could browse and try on carefully selected vintage, pre-loved, and reimagined bridal pieces in one collection. I found myself wishing that boutique existed. Eventually, I realised that if I couldn't find it, perhaps I should create it - And so The Ivory Coven was born.
The Ivory Coven is inspired by the belief that every wedding dress deserves a second chapter. Each gown carries its own history, whether it's a dramatic 1980s lace creation, a sleek 1990s satin silhouette, or an early 2000s corseted design waiting to be rediscovered.
My mission is simple: to help brides find something extraordinary. Something with character. Something with a story. Something unique.
Whether you're searching for a vintage treasure, a pre-loved designer gown, or a piece that feels entirely unlike anything on the high street, I hope The Ivory Coven helps you discover a dress that feels uniquely yours.
Because sometimes the perfect wedding dress isn't brand new. Sometimes it's simply waiting to be found!
